John Gretton Jr. "Jocko" Willink (born September 8, 1971 ) is an American retired officer in the United States Navy SEAL , podcaster and co-founder of the management consulting firm Echolon Front. He is also active as an author and has contributed to the books "Extreme Ownership" and "The Dichotomy of Leadership", among others.

Life

Willink was initially part of the Navy SEALs for about 20 years , where he rose to become SEAL Officer over the years. Among other things, he was in action as the commander of the Bruiser Task Unit of SEAL Team Three in the battle for the Iraqi city ​​of Ramadi during the Iraq war . He then worked as a training manager for the SEAL teams on the American west coast until he retired in 2010.

After retiring from the American military, he founded the management consultancy Echolon Front together with his former SEAL colleague Leif Babin , wrote several books and started the "Jocko Podcast".

Awards

He received the Silver Star and the Bronze Star for his service in the Iraq war.
