The The Innovation in Politics Institute is an organization with its headquarters in Vienna , the innovative award projects of European politics. The organization has a branch in Berlin .
A jury, consisting of 1,000 European citizens, selects politicians with their innovative projects from all submissions for the final. The prizes have been awarded annually since 2017 in the following categories:
- Civilization (art, education, science, European society)
- Community (participation, social involvement)
- Democracy (participation, transparency, self-determination)
- Ecology (environmental protection, energy)
- Human rights (women's affairs, equality, minority rights)
- Work (jobs, labor market)
- Prosperity (business location, technology, finance)
- Quality of life (health care, social security, housing, mobility)
A ninth category of freedom was originally planned, but was discontinued in 2017 after zero submissions. The award ceremony is intended to make political projects public so that they can be implemented across regional and party boundaries.
