Joel Moffett

Joel Moffett is an American film producer , film director , screenwriter, and actor .

Life

Moffett grew up on the island of Maui , Hawaii . He attended Seabury Hall High School there. He holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Film Directing from the American Film Institute and a Masters of Fine Arts in Theater Directing from Humboldt State University . He later taught screenwriting and directing at the American Film Institute for nine years. During this time he also taught acting, producing and directing at Chapman University Dodge College. Moffett was part of the first hiring of a full-time ACM faculty in 2005 whose job it was to start a new film program. In this function he was awarded the Chancellor's quote for meritorious teaching and is currently an associate professor.

Since 1993 he has worked in the production of various short films. The short films have already been shown at various film festivals and awarded prizes.
