Joel Prieto
Joel Prieto (* 1981 in Madrid ) is a Spanish opera singer ( tenor ).
Life
Prieto grew up in Puerto Rico . At the age of five he began to learn to play the violin. He later studied music at the Manhattan School of Music and was a member of the Atelier Lyrique at the Paris Opera . From 2006 to 2008 he was a member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin ensemble and performed in Vienna with Plácido Domingo . In 2009 he appeared at the Salzburg Festival .
In 2008 he won first prize, the Zarzuela Prize and the CulturArte Prize in the Operalia competition launched by Plácido Domingo .
