Johan Farjot

Johan Farjot is a French pianist, conductor and music teacher.

Life

Farjot studied at the Conservatoire de Paris with Michaël Lévinas , Thierry Escaich , Claire Levacher and Zsolt Nagy and won five first prizes a. a. in the subjects of harmony, music analysis, counterpoint and fugue. He then studied chamber music at the Lyon Conservatory. He teaches musicology at the Paris-Sorbonne University .

Farjot played works by contemporary composers such as Nicolas Bacri , Edith Canat de Chizy , Thierry Escaich , Karol Beffa , Sven-Ingo Koch , Marc Mellits , Péter Eötvös and Martin Matalon, and performed at festivals and concerts in France and France , some of which were premiered and dedicated other European countries such as Germany, Italy, Belgium, Portugal and Sweden.

As a chamber musician he performed a. a. with Jean-Guihen Queyras and Pierre-Olivier Queyras , François Salque , Karine Deshayes , Magali Léger , Lise Berthaud , Fabrice Bihan , Emmanuelle Bertrand , Olivier Patey , Yvan Chiffoleau , Geneviève Laurenceau , Antoine Pierlot , Amaury Coeytaux and Jean-Luc Votano . Since 1999 he has been working with the violist Arnaud Thorette in a duo and in the Contraste ensemble .

Farjot u. a. with the Orchester de Monte Carlo , Orchester d'Auvergne , Orchester du Capitole de Toulouse , Orchester d'Ostrava and Orchester de Massy and soloists such as Fanny Clamagirand , Delphine Haidan and Alain Buet . As the successor to Jacques Grimbert , he leads the Orchester de Paris-Sorbonne .
