Arnaud Thorette

Arnaud Thorette (* 1977 in Nouméa ) is a French violist .

Thorette first studied viola, violin and chamber music at the Conservatory of Versailles, then until 2005 at the Conservatory of Lyon with Tasso Adamopoulos . Since 2002 he has won prizes in a number of music competitions, most recently in 2006 first prize in the soloist competition in Haverhill, UK. He also received a scholarship from the SAGEM Foundation and was supported by the Mécenat Musical Société Géneral .

Since 2000 he has formed a duo with the pianist Johan Farjot , with whom he also works in the Contraste ensemble . In 2007 he founded the Arte Trio with the violinist Ayoko Tanaka and the cellist Fabrice Bihan .

In 2006 Thorette became known for a CD with works by Robert Schumann and Franz Liszt and then played for radio and television stations such as France Musique, Radio Classique, Arte and the SWR . Contemporary composers such as Nicolas Bacri , Guillaume Connesson , Gilbert Amy , Philippe Hersant , Tristan Murail , Bruno Letort , Edith Canat de Chisy , Thierry Escaich , Marc Mellits and Karol Beffa have dedicated compositions to him.

As a chamber musician, Thorette u. a. with Augustin Dumay , Patrice Fontanarosa , Vladimir Mendelssohn , Karine Deshayes , Geneviève Laurenceau , Joseph Sylverstein , Bertrand Chamayou . Henri Demarquette , Marc Coppey and Chloe Hanslip together. He plays a viola that the violin maker Jean-Louis Prochasson made for him in 2000 ( Il Duende ).
