Bertrand Chamayou (born March 23, 1981 in Toulouse ) is a French pianist .

Life

Chamayou attended the conservatory in his hometown and at the age of 15 went to the Conservatoire de Paris . Joined Maria Curcio in London, Murray Perahia and Leon Fleisher , he became known through concert tours in France. He played in Europe, Japan, Canada and Hong Kong , in Germany in Munich and at the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival . He makes chamber music with Augustin Dumay , Renaud Capuçon and Gautier Capuçon .

In 2006 Sony recorded his Études d'exécution transcendante by Franz Liszt . In 2007 the 2nd piano concerto by Camille Saint-Saëns followed , in 2008 Mendelssohn's Songs without Words and in 2010 César Franck's great piano works. In the Liszt anniversary year 2011, Chamayou recorded his monumental piano cycle Années de pèlerinage .

His first album was released by Warner Classics in 2014, including Schubert's Wanderer Fantasy .

He has won the Paris Long - Thibaud Competition and Krainew Competition in Kharkov (1998). In 2011 he was named "Instrumental Soloist of the Year" by the Victoires de la musique classique .
