Grave in the old city cemetery

Eighth churches studied law at the University of Göttingen and received his doctorate there in 1748 to Dr. jur. His merit for Northeim lies primarily in building up the administration. Northeim also owes him the introduction of modern cemeteries and thus the old cemetery, which is now used as a park and which was put into operation on his initiative in 1789. Achterkirchen died on June 3, 1789 in the office of mayor. His grave and that of his wife are still in the old city cemetery.

Achterkirchenstrasse in Northeim reminds of the former mayor today - next to his grave.
