Johann Adolf Freiherr von Frentz (* after 1628 ; † October 24, 1699 ) was canon in Münster and Hildesheim .

Life

Johann Adolf Freiherr von Frentz came as the son of the Rhenish court master Adolf Sigismund von Frentz zu Kendenich and his wife Maria Katharina von Aldenbrück of the noble family Raitz von Frentz , which is one of the oldest families of lay judges and knights in the imperial city of Cologne . In 1642 the family was raised to the status of imperial baron. When they married in 1628, Elsum Castle became their property.

By electoral commission by 19 December 1637 Johann Adolf was for Dompräbende of the late canon Hermann Nagel presented on February 5 in 1638 and came into possession of the benefice on 26 February. On October 12, 1664, after the resignation of Johann Rotger Torck, he opted for the archdeaconate Stadtlohn.
