Nikolai Ilyich Romanov

Nikolai Ilyich Romanov ( Russian: Николай Ильич Романов ; * July 15, 1867 in Moscow ; † June 17, 1948 ibid) was a Russian art historian and museum director.

Life

Romanov graduated from the Faculty of History and Philology at Moscow University . From 1900 he taught there at the chair for art history and theory.

Romanov was the successor to Vladimir Giazintow from 1923 to 1928 museum director of the Pushkin Museum in Moscow. He was succeeded in office as museum director Fyodor Ilyin .
