Johann Albert Roetig

Johann Albert Roetig , also called Rötig (* 1718 in Hachenburg , † 1787 there ), was a German watchmaker .

Johann Albert was born in 1718 and is the first attested watchmaker of the “ Roetig watchmaker dynasty . He was married to Anna Christina, nee Bitzer. Johann Albert Roetig died in his hometown in 1787 at the age of 69, leaving behind six children. His son Johann Anton b. January 11, 1750 was also a watchmaker, continuing the family tradition.

The Cercle Tournant clock in the National Technical Museum in Prague is probably the work of Johann Albert. A grandfather clock from 1783 with the signature plate “JA Rötig 1783” , which is privately owned in Hachenburg, also comes from him .
