Johann Christian Evers

Johann Christian Evers (born May 2, 1898 in Ritterhude , Osterholz district, † May 4, 1964 ibid) was a German politician ( DP ).

Evers attended elementary school in his birthplace Ritterhude and then switched to the secondary school and the upper secondary school in Bremen . He finished his school education with the acquisition of the school leaving certificate for the Prima. In the First World War he was a soldier from November 1916 to January 1919. In June 1919 he became a farm owner in Ritterhude. Between October 1919 and the end of the Second World War in May 1945, he was the community leader and later mayor of Ritterhude without interruption.

Evers was a member of the district council before 1933 and took over this mandate again from November 1948. In December 1948 he became district administrator. An office that he held until his death. Evers became a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament for the second and third electoral periods from May 6, 1951 to May 5, 1959. He belonged to the joint parliamentary group of the DP and CDU in the state parliament.

The district administrator Christian-Evers-Straße in Holste was named after him. Because of its controversial role at the time of National Socialism, there was no street naming in Ritterhude.
