Lukas Lindenmaier

Heinrich Lukas Lindenmaier (born March 5, 1946 in Basel ; † February 27, 2014 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a Swiss drummer of jazz and new improvisation music . He used self-constructed percussion instruments such as his “lifting cap” or a double bass marimba.

Live and act

Lindenmaier was initially self-taught as a drummer, but completed workshops with Jörn Schipper , Doug Hammond and Max Roach . Since 1983 he has worked with the “Workshop Orchestra” of John Tchicai , with Muneer Abdul Fataah and above all with Harald Kimmig and Uwe Martin and Georg Wolf as “Kxutrio”, who also performed with guests such as Maggie Nicols and Irène Schweizer . In 1986 he received a scholarship from the Baden-Württemberg Art Foundation . In 1987 he founded the F-Orkestra with Kimmig , which also worked as guest soloists with Buddy Collette and Peter Kowald . From 1988 he appeared in formations around Cecil Taylor in Berlin and at documenta IX . Lindenmaier was a founding member of the “Freiburg Forum for Improvised Music”, composed and played stage music for the Freiburg theater . In 1994 he appeared with Tomasz Stańkos Rhythm Brass Four and with Hartmut Geerken , on March 21, 2000 on the Südwestrundfunk Freiburg “Von Röhren und Lamellen. A mycological-literary-musical excursion. Live-Electronics & Performance "(radio concert) with Hartmut Geerken, Christine Engel and Frank Rühl ( Die Pilzfreunde ), 2001 with the flautist Nils Gerold at the" Festival Improvisations "in Bremen.
