Johann Christoph Ballmer

Johann Christoph Ballmer (born January 13, 1830 in Lausen , † February 6, 1911 in Liestal ) was a Swiss politician .

Life

Ballmer was an engineer , road and bridge construction entrepreneur and owner of the brickworks and the Rössli inn. He was the school administration and mayor of Lausen. From 1866 he held the office of the cantonal road construction inspector.

Ballmer was a district administrator from 1872 to 1873, and then a government councilor with the office of construction until 1877 . His term of office is in the middle of the second phase of railway construction in Baselland with the crisis caused by the suspension of work on the Wasserfallenbahn .

At the communal level, Ballmer deals with coping with the economic structural changes as a result of the dwindling truck traffic over the Upper and Lower Hauenstein .
