Johann Christoph Schmidt (medical doctor)
Johann Christoph Schmidt (born January 28, 1700 in Schweinfurt , † September 14, 1724 ) was a German medic and physician in Schweinfurt.
Life
Johann Christoph Schmidt was a son of the physician Johann Heinrich Schmidt and grandson of Elias Schmidt .
After attending grammar school in Schweinfurt, he studied medicine at the universities of Gießen (1718), Strasbourg (1720) and Basel (1721). In 1721 he received his doctorate in Basel . He then went on a trip abroad that took him to Switzerland and Holland. Then he worked as a doctor in Schweinfurt.
On December 17, 1722 he was registered under the registration number. Elected member of the Leopoldina in 361 with the academic surname Phaeton IV .
The physician Elias Heinrich Schmidt (1707–1732) was his brother.
