Johann Heinrich Schmidt (doctor)

Johann Heinrich Schmidt (born April 21, 1660 in Schweinfurt ; † March 23, 1723 ibid) was a German medic and physician in Schweinfurt.

Life

Johann Heinrich Schmidt was a son of the physician Elias Schmidt . After his studies he worked as a doctor and Physicus in Schweinfurt. He was later given the professorship for physics at the grammar school.

He inherited a very large library from his grandfather Johann Lorenz Bausch , which his father managed for him and enlarged it not inconsiderably.

On November 19, 1686 Johann Heinrich Schmidt was registered under the registration number. 153 elected a member of the Leopoldina with the academic surname Phaeton II .

The physician Johann Christoph Schmidt was his son.
