Johann Christoph Wenzel

Johann Christoph Wenzel (born February 8, 1659 in Unterellen near Eisenach , † March 2, 1723 in Zittau ) was a German doctor , high school teacher and writer .

Life

Johann Christoph Wenzel studied medicine and philosophy in Erfurt from 1678. Later he was an intern in Eisenach and from 1684 studied medicine and philosophy in Jena, where he became an adjunct of the Philosophical Faculty in 1691. In 1694 he received his doctorate in medicine. In 1695 he was appointed rector of the Princely State School in Altenburg . In 1713 he went to Zittau and took over the management of the grammar school . He held the post of rector until his death in 1723.
