Johann Conrad Winter († April 1777 in Lübeck ) was a German piano maker in Lübeck and father of the piano makers Jürgen Hinrich Winter and Leonard Conrad Winter .

Life

The piano maker Johann Conrad Winter probably founded the company between 1730 and 1740, which was to remain in the family for more than 140 years. Two of his sons, Jürgen Hinrich Winter and Leonard Conrad Winter, learned and worked in their father's workshop. Leonard Conrad died in the same year as his father (1777). Jürgen Hinrich continued to run the business together with piano maker Christian Hinrich Meyers. After Jürgen Hinrich's death, his son Johann Hinrich Winter and Christian Hinrich Meyers continued the business. Christian Hinrich died before 1798. Johan Hinrich died in 1801. A year later his widow married the piano maker Johann Diedrich Rädecker , with the result that the business was transferred to the Rädecker family. Johann Hinrich Winter had a son, Johann Heinrich Winter , who became a piano maker in Bremen after his marriage.
