Johann Ernst Duration

Johann Ernst Dauer ( 1746 in Hildburghausen - 27 September 1812 in Vienna ) was a German theater actor and opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Duration worked at the Hofburgtheater from 1779 to 1812  - mostly as an actor, according to the customs of the time, but also as an opera singer, especially in the buffo field. On July 16, 1782, he embodied the figure of Pedrillo at the world premiere of Mozart's Singspiel Die Entführung aus dem Serail .

He was married to his colleague Henriette Dauer-von Etzdorf (1758–1843), from whom he was divorced in 1795.
