Johann Franz Xaver Arnold

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johann Franz Xaver Arnold was a German-speaking writer and botanist . It is uncertain whether this was his real name or just a pseudonym. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " JFArnold ". It is possible that Johann Rautenstrauch published the work Reise nach Mariazell in Steyermark , Vienna, in 1785, under this pseudonym.

According to the official botanical taxonomy, Arnold is the person who was the first to describe the black pine , which is very well known in Central Europe, in a botanically correct manner.
