Johann Friedrich Hennings (born October 16, 1838 in Bremen , † June 29, 1899 in Munich ) was a German genre and landscape painter.

Hennings studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Oswald Achenbach . After graduating, he went on a study trip to Italy . He then settled in Munich in 1861.

A painter of almost the same name, Johann Ferdinand Hennings, died on June 20, 1895 in Munich at the age of 66.
