Johann Graf Fugger the Elder , also Hans (born June 1, 1583 , † April 28, 1633 in Telfs ) from the Fugger family was a merchant and landowner as well as the master of Babenhausen and Boos Castle .

Johann was the son of Jakob III. Fugger and Anna Ilsung . After the death of his father in 1598, he administered, among other things, the dominions of Babenhausen and Boos . In 1620 the rulers were divided and shortly afterwards there was an exchange. His brother Maximilian (1587–1629) became lord of Babenhausen, Johann lord of Boos.

Jakob had been married to Countess Maria von Hohenzollern (1586–1668) since 1605 . They had the following offspring:

  • Maria Margareta Countess Fugger, nun in Holzen, then Inzigkofen (1614–1656)
