Jacob III Fugger (born March 30, 1542 in Babenhausen ; † February 7, 1598 ibid) was a German merchant and landowner as well as a gentleman at Babenhausen Castle in Upper Swabia . He came from the Fugger family .

Life

Jakob was the fourth son of Anton Fugger and Anna von Rehlingen . After the death of his father in 1560, he and his brothers jointly managed the trading company and the now considerable property of the family. In 1573 the entire property was divided among the brothers. Jakob was awarded the rulers of Babenhausen, Wellenburg and Boos , among others . In 1583 he and his brothers received the imperial status in the Swabian Imperial Counts College , as well as the district status in the Swabian Imperial Circle .

Jakob was married to Anna Ilsung von Tratzberg since 1570 . They had the following offspring:
