Anna Fugger , b. Anna Rehlinger von Horgau (born November 3, 1505 in Augsburg , † March 25, 1548 in Schwaz in Tyrol, buried in Babenhausen ) was the wife of Anton Fugger (1493–1560).

Life

Family coat of arms line 1 of the Rehlinger family

Anna Rehlinger was born in 1505 as the daughter of Johann Rehlinger von Horgau (1483–1552) and Anna Dietenheim. The patrician family of Rehlinger belonged at that time the most influential families in the imperial city of Augsburg. On February 25 or December 25, 1527 she married Anton Fugger, son of Georg Fugger (1453–1506), who is still considered one of the richest people in world history. Anna Fugger was the first patrician in the Fugger family and became the ancestor of the so-called Antonius line, which is still flourishing today. With the birth of the eleventh child, Anna died at the age of 43 on March 25, 1548 in Schwaz. She was buried in Babenhausen.

reception

The young Anna Rehlinger was portrayed in 1523 by Albrecht Dürer as "Portrait of a Young Woman". In addition, she is probably depicted on one of the “Augsburg Monthly Pictures” from the 16th century: In the middle of the picture “October – December” a noble lady can be seen in a sleigh with the Rehlinger coat of arms, which is why it is assumed that Anna is there Fugger born Rehlinger was depicted.
