Johann Georg Alberti

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johann Georg Alberti (* 1644 ; † 1722 ) was a Dortmund organist and organ builder .

Life

The organ builder family comes from Hattingen . Grandfather Peter Alberti († 1670), organist in Hattingen, and father Albertus Alberti (1614–1670) had already built organs. When his father became organist at the Reinoldikirche in Dortmund in 1640 , he also set up his workshop in Dortmund, which the son took over as his successor after his father's death.

Johann Georg Alberti built various organs in Westphalia, a. a. in Witten (1696) and in Wellinghofen . Here the contract from 1709 is still preserved, which provides for the reproduction of the successful Witten organ for 320 thalers.
