Johann Georg Eisen von Schwarzenberg (born January 19, 1717 in Polsingen , † February 1779 in Jaropolč ) was a clergyman and writer .

Life

Johann Georg Eisen von Schwarzenberg was born as the son of the pastor Gottfired Eisen von Schwarzenberg and his wife Elisabeth, nee. Döderlein was born.

From 1737 to 1740 he studied theology in Halle . He was prosecuted by the governorate for alleged rebellion. On February 19, 1747 he married Christina Beata Reussner. From 1776 to 1777 he was a professor at the Academia Petrina and inspector of the ducal economy and gardens in Mitau . He was a typical representative of the Enlightenment, with many interests. His description of serfdom in Livonia , in which he assessed it very negatively and demanded that it be converted into lease in money, was the first sharp protest against the grievances, but had only an indirect effect. He campaigned successfully for smallpox vaccination since 1769.
