Johann Georg Geiling (born September 7, 1657 in Heilbronn ; † December 23, 1729 there ) was Mayor of Heilbronn from 1727 to 1729 .

Life

In 1689 he was a member of the city court and in 1690 belonged to the small, inner council ("von den burgern") of Heilbronn, was tax master from 1701 and from 1727 until his death mayor of the imperial city.

He was married to Maria Barbara Hesser, the daughter of a butcher in Heilbronn. Johann Georg and Maria Barbara had two children: Maria Magdalena and Johann Georg. Maria Magdalena married Johann Kornacher, the father of Georg Christoph Kornacher , whose daughter Lisette Kornacher was believed to be the model of Käthchen von Heilbronn . Johann Georg the Younger marries the daughter of the mayor Johann David Feyerabend .

The tomb of two of Geiling's sons with a central portrait panel, made by the sculptor Johann Baptista Lauggas , has been preserved in the Lapidarium of the Heilbronn City Archives in the Old Milk Farm .
