Johann Georg Glauche also Johann Georgius Glauche, Johann Georg Glauch (* before 1699 in Wurzen , † after 1745 in Hamburg ) was a German theologian , librettist and writer .

Life

Glauche studied theology and went to Hamburg, where he was accepted as a candidate for the ministry on November 22, 1715, but was dismissed in 1724 because of “poor lifestyle”. In 1732 he was appointed Vice-Chancellor in Harburg , after which he can be traced back to Hamburg, where he probably also died. He wrote libretti for the composers Johann Mattheson , Reinhard Keizer , Georg Philipp Telemann and Matthias Christoph Wiedeburg .
