Johann Georg Riescher also Rischer (* 1759 ; † March 6, 1827 ) was a master builder and cathedral builder in Freiburg im Breisgau

The bricklayers and stonemasons Master Riescher received in 1786 the Freiburg civil rights and in 1792 the Steinhauer right on the Old Cemetery . Riescher worked together with the sculptor Franz Anton Xaver Hauser at the Bertoldsbrunnen . For this he created a column and trough, with the support of Hauser. The two were also linked privately. After the death of Hauser's wife, Riescher became the guardian of his children.

In addition to his work as a foreman at the Freiburg Cathedral , where he was also a member of a "beautification commission", he created gravestones in the old cemetery. Below is the tomb of his son Georg, who died at the age of 15, from 1807, which later added entries for him and his wife, who died in 1829. Some of his sons also became masons or stone masons.
