Johann Georg Volland

Johann Georg Volland (born November 12, 1763 ; † November 24, 1818 in Sondershausen ) was Lord Mayor of the capital and residence town of Sondershausen.

Life

Johann Georg Volland was born in 1763 as the son of Johann Wilhelm Andreas Volland (born 1736) in Sondershausen. At first he worked in the city as a merchant and trader, with which he achieved some prosperity and reputation. Around 1805 he was elected Lord Mayor of the city of Sondershausen.

family

Johann Georg Volland was the grandson of the church and consortium councilor Christian Wilhelm Volland and thus belonged to the Volland family . He married Caroline Friedericke Heisin in Sondershausen. His son was the landowner Friedrich von Volland (1793–1868). He is also a relative of the composer and poet Friedrich Wilhelm August Volland (1774–1841).
