Johann Haberl

Johann Haberl (born December 27, 1876 in Weinpolz , † December 1, 1962 in Waidhofen an der Thaya ) was an Austrian politician ( CSP ) and owner of an inn. From 1921 to 1927 he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

Life

Haberl attended elementary school and then worked in his parents' business. In 1908 he bought an inn in Waidhofen an der Thaya and was conscripted between 1914 and 1918 during the First World War. He founded the agricultural cooperative Waidhofen, which he also chaired as chairman and was chairman of the district chamber of farmers from 1922 to 1938. In 1945 he was again chairman of the district chamber of farmers.

Haberl represented the Christian Social Party in the state parliament between May 11, 1921 and May 20, 1927. From 1934 to 1938 he was mayor of Waidhofen an der Thaya. After the National Socialists came to power, Haberl was temporarily imprisoned. After the Second World War, he was active as Vice Mayor between 1945 and 1950.
