Life

After completing his studies, Hagenbusch came to the Darmstadt pedagogue as prorector in 1717 . He was also a teacher in the upper classes. From 1726 he taught the sons of the then Hereditary Prince Ludwig VIII (Hessen-Darmstadt) .

After Heinrich Walther Gerdes was released, he was appointed court librarian in 1723 . Hagenbusch strongly advocated the strict implementation of an ordinance by Landgrave Ernst Ludwig , which stipulated that two mandatory copies were to be submitted to the court library. During his tenure in 1733, the Hanau library was taken over by Johann Reinhard III. (Hanau) to the sons of Louis VIII. This library was initially housed separately in the Darmstadt Palace.

In 1736 Hagenbusch fell ill and could no longer carry out his office. He died in Darmstadt in March 1737 at the age of only 48.
