Johann Heinrich Gillessen
Johann Heinrich Gillessen (born November 26, 1910 in Mönchengladbach ; † 1997 in Blankenheim (Ahr) ) was a German painter and art teacher.
Gillessen studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . He lived u. a. in Neuss and since 1974 in Blankenheim-Nonnenbach .
Gillessen was the initiator of the Mönchengladbach art community Die Planke and embodies the Lower Rhine landscape painter in the tradition of Pre- and Early Impressionism.
