Johann II hat
Johann II. Hut (also Hoet or Huot) (* in Lüneburg ; † August 17, 1366 in Osnabrück ) was bishop of Osnabrück from 1349 to 1366.
Johann Hut came from a bourgeois family of the same name from Lüneburg and was appointed bishop of Osnabrück in 1349 against the will of the cathedral chapter and the city by papal appointment. Presumably, his appointment was intended to get the broken conditions of the diocese under control (as Doebner writes in the ADB ). In fulfillment of this expectation, he first displayed massive action against the city, clergy and feudal people. Later he worked against the background of external disputes and a. forced to make peace with cathedral chapter and city with the bishopric of Minden and an oppressive debt burden.
In 1361 he left the secular administration of the diocese to Count Dietrich von der Mark as vicar by contract .
His brother Nikolaus Hut was canon in Lübeck and Schwerin.
