Johann Jakob Adam

Johann Jakob Adam (* around 1720 in Memmingen ; † 1791 in Augsburg ) was a silver worker, artisan, silversmith and goldsmith.

Little is known about the life of Johann Jakob Adam. He was born around 1720 in Memmingen, Upper Swabia . In 1749 he married Susanna Baur. From 1762 to 1764 he was inspector in Memmingen. In 1766, 1769 and 1781 it is listed in the goldsmiths register of the Upper Swabian city of Augsburg . Many of his works are in German museums.

  • Treasure trove of the Munich Residence : A gold-plated chocolate service made of silver, chased cast, Frankenthal porcelain, crystal glass
  • Bavarian National Museum : A stand for table spices, made of silver, chased and cast
  • Dreifaltigkeitskirche in Haunsheim: A gilded chalice made of silver in 1771 and a gilded host box made of silver in 1772
  • Mainfrankenmuseum in Würzburg: A chocolatière made from silver around 1750
  • Museum for Art and Cultural History Dortmund : A gold-plated chocolate service made of silver around 1755–57 (chased, cast, glass beakers, porcelain cups)
  • Five other works have been identified so far, some of which are in the art trade and in private ownership.
