Johann Julius Albrecht Hecht

Johann Julius Albrecht Hecht (born December 6, 1731 in Halberstadt ; † June 29, 1804 there ) was a Prussian civil servant who worked as a government director in the Principality of Halberstadt , and a manor owner .

Life

He was born in the former bishopric of Halberstadt , which fell to the Electorate of Brandenburg in 1648 and was converted into a principality. His father was Justus Heinrich Hecht, who later became the dean in Halberstadt. His mother was Magdalene Salome née Lessmann from Halberstadt.

He attended school and high school in his hometown. In 1750 he went to study at the University of Halle , where he studied law. In 1752 he became a trainee lawyer with the government in Halberstadt, which started a 50-year career in the Prussian civil service. At his own request he was transferred to Magdeburg in 1756 , where he passed the major exam. As early as 1760 he returned to Halberstadt, where he worked until the end of his life. in 1763 he was promoted to the council.

In 1763 Johann Julius Albrecht Hecht was appointed to the government. In 1786 he was called the best councilor in the Halberstadt government. The following year he was promoted to director of the Halberstadt government. As such, he supported the elderly district president CL von Cronberg. When he became seriously ill in 1790/91, Hecht was in charge of government affairs. He also worked as an excise and customs judge in Halberstadt.

When he died in 1804, he left behind the widow Charlotte Friederike (1739–1806), daughter of the merchant and dean Hermann Stilcke from Magdeburg, and several adult children, some of whom had also embarked on an administrative career. These include the war and domain councilor Ludwig Heinrich Friedrich Hecht (1774–1854), who was raised to the nobility , the justice commissioner Carl Christian Julius Hecht and the senior bailiff Friedrich Wilhelm Leopold Hecht.
