Johann Kaspar Bosselmann

Johann Kaspar Bosselmann (born April 3, 1690 in Elberfeld ; † April 1749 in Ronsdorf , both today districts of Wuppertal ) was the mayor of Elberfeld.

Life

Bosselmann was born as the son of the yarn merchant Erwin Bosselmann, originally from Barmen, and his third wife Maria Magdalena Peill (1650-1733). One of his half-sisters, Maria Siebel, married the mayor of 1692 Johannes Teschemacher (1660-1718). Bosselmann himself married once. On February 15, 1720, he married Anna Gertrud Lucas (1695–1763) in Elberfeld. There were no children from the marriage.

Bosselmann was proposed as mayor in 1735 and 1737, but was only able to prevail against the three competitors on the third attempt in 1738. The following year he became a city judge and later moved with his wife to Ronsdorf, where he became a judge and lay judge of the city court. After his death in April 1749, the funeral took place on April 8th, his widow married the city founder of Ronsdorf, Elias Eller , who founded a radical pietist sect of the Zionites there, but died in May 1750.
