Johann Kuchner

Johann Kuchner (born October 15, 1881 in Waldegg ; † October 6, 1972 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and innkeeper . Kuchner was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1945 to 1954 and a member of the Federal Council from 1954 to 1959 .

After elementary school, Kuchner attended the community school and then learned the profession of butcher. He gained practice in England and France and did his military service during the First World War . Kuchner ran a hotel in Waldegg and was mayor of Waldegg from 1934 to 1938 and after the Second World War in 1945, although his hotel operations were severely hampered by the billeting of Soviet soldiers. Kuchner established a hotel management school in his company in 1948 and was a local councilor in 1950. In 1952 Kuchner moved to Gutenstein . Between December 12, 1945 and November 10, 1954, he was a member of the Lower Austrian State Parliament and then from November 10, 1954 to June 4, 1959, a member of the Federal Council. He was also vice-president of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce from 1950 to 1951 and between 1955 and 1965.
