Johann Lindemann (Mayor)
Johann (es) Lindemann (* 1475 in Eisleben ; † 1519 ) was a Saxon civil servant and local politician.
Life
Lindemann, a cousin of Martin Luther , was born like him in Eisleben and was the son of Johann (Hans) Lindemann of the same name. In 1509 he became full professor of the law faculty of the University of Leipzig .
In 1514 and 1517 Johann (es) Lindemann was mayor of the trade fair city of Leipzig . At the university there he was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD and professor . He later served as a councilor to Duke Georg von Sachsen , who died in 1538 . He died at the age of 44.
