Johann Ludwig d'Arrest (* 1709 ; † after 1771 ) was a German lawyer , from 1757 to 1771 mayor and district administrator in Kolberg .

Life

His father Peter d'Arrest (* 1670, † 1733) was a war and domain councilor at the Kurmärkischen war and domain chamber.

Johann Ludwig d'Arrest studied law at the Brandenburg University in Frankfurt . He then worked in Stargard in Pomerania, initially as the city secretary, and from 1739 as a secretary at the Schöppenstuhl in Stargard . After 1740 he became war, domain and building councilor at the Pomeranian War and Domain Chamber in Stettin . In 1753 he became legal advisor of the Stettin Mint , but his position was lost as early as 1754 when the mint was reorganized.

After trying in vain for the position of mayor and district administrator in Stargard in Pomerania in 1754 - King Frederick the Great rejected him as unsuitable - he finally became mayor and district administrator in Kolberg in 1757 . He held this office until his retirement (“emeritus”) in 1771.
