Johann Martin Brandes

Johann Martin Brandes ( pseudonym Johannes Bersandius ; born August 6, 1617 in Hanover , † October 17, 1667 in Rinteln ) was a German lawyer and university professor .

Life

Brandes was born shortly before the beginning of the Thirty Years' War as the son of a trader working in Hanover. He studied law at the universities of Wittenberg, Helmstedt and Rinteln and received his doctorate in 1647. In 1650, succeeding Franz Gießenbier , he was appointed professor at the University of Rinteln , where he received the title of Prof. Dr. taught.
