Johann Michael Kirschbaum (born September 28, 1725 , † April 8, 1782 in Heilbronn ) was a linen weaver ; Master weaver and author. His publications are considered an "important source of historical fabric samples".

He came from Middle Franconia and went on a journey that lasted 13 years. Finally he came to Heilbronn in 1755, where he married the daughter of a linen weaver from Neckargartach and started his own business. In 1771 Kirschbaum published his New Picture and Pattern Book for the Promotion of Fine Linen and Picture Weaving Art . The 2nd edition appeared in 1793, and the 4th edition appeared in 1827.

"The pattern book testifies to the craftsmanship and inventiveness of the Heilbronn master weaver and is today an important source for historical fabric samples."
