Johann Michael Kohler

Johann Michael Kohler (* 1681 in Tübingen ; † 1767 there ) was a surgeon and wig maker , as well as a long-time mayor of Tübingen.

Life

Johann Michael Kohler was a son of the white tanner and councilor Michael Kohler and his first wife, who was not known by name. He was a surgeon and wig maker by profession. In 1703 he married Christine Magdalene Pezold, a daughter of the merchant and mayor of Dornstetten Johann Nikolaus Pezold. But he also worked for the city as an official computer and clerk.

From 1718 he was a member of the council, from 1730 he moved to the court and in 1736 he was appointed mayor of Tübingen. He held this office until his death in 1767.

Johann Michael Kohler had at least two daughters. A person not known by name married the Perruquier and councilor Johann Michael Feurer (1698–1764). The other, Maria Magdalena, married the pastor of Derendingen Ludwig Gottfried Ammermüller in 1757 .
