Johann Smitka

Johann Smitka (born January 9, 1863 in Vienna ; † March 24, 1944 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SDAP ).

Johann Smitka completed an apprenticeship as a tailor after primary school. He became accountant of the cooperative health insurance company for clothing makers in Vienna. Smitka was a member of the work council in the Ministry of Commerce, chairman of the Austrian trade commission and assistant chairman of the Schneider Austria.

From 1907 to 1918 he was a member of the Reichsrat , 1918/19 a member of the Provisional National Assembly, 1919/20 a member of the Constituent National Assembly and from 1920 to 1930 a member of the National Council .
