Johann Staudinger

Johann Staudinger (born December 20, 1889 in Schlatt ; † August 21, 1963 in Wels ) was an Upper Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. He was mayor of the municipality of Schlatt and from 1945 to 1955 a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament .

Live and act

Staudinger worked professionally as a farmer in his home town Schlatt. In the interwar period he was particularly involved in local politics, representing the farming profession and in banking. As early as 1919 he was a co-founder of the Upper Austrian Farmers' Union, where he was its district chairman from 1936 to 1938. Even after the Second World War, he held this position between 1945 and 1960. Staudinger was very active in the Raiffeisenkassa . From 1920 to 1934 he was a member of the board of the Raiffeisenkasse Schwanenstadt and was its chairman from 1934 to 1938. From 1945 he again took on the role of deputy chairman or chairman of the Raiffeisenkasse Schwanenstadt until his death.

In terms of local politics, Staudinger was a member of the Schlatt municipal committee from 1920, and from 1927 he held the office of vice mayor. In 1945 he took over the office of mayor of the municipality, which he was to lead until October 22, 1961. He also represented the Austrian People's Party from December 13, 1945 to November 4, 1949 in the Upper Austrian state parliament.

In addition to his political functions and his involvement in the Raiffeisenbank, Staudinger worked primarily in the cattle breeding association and in agricultural cooperatives after the Second World War. From 1945 to 1952 he held the position of deputy chairman of the Pinzgauer Cattle Breeding Association and was then chairman from 1952 to 1962. Furthermore, between 1947 and 1962 he was the chairman of the supervisory board of the Viehverwertungsgenossenschaft Oberösterreich, from 1951 to 1956 he was a member of the board of lawyers for the agricultural and forestry cooperatives of Upper Austria and from 1956 to 1961 a member of the supervisory board of this association. Furthermore, he was chairman of the regional association for milk performance testing Upper Austria and from 1955 to 1961 chamber councilor of the chamber of agriculture.
