Johann Stippel

Johann Stippel (born June 15, 1940 in Markt Piesting ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and AHS director at rest. Stippel was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1979 to 1999 .

education and profession

After attending compulsory school, Stippel attended the teacher training college in Wiener Neustadt , which he graduated with the Matura in 1959. He then studied at the University of Vienna and obtained his doctorate as Dr. phil. He also did his military service between 1965 and 1966. Stippel was initially employed as a trial teacher in Vienna in 1964 and subsequently worked as a teacher at a general secondary school from that year. In 1970 he was appointed administrator of the BORG Wiener Neustadt and in 1976 appointed its head. After Stippel was promoted to director of the school in 1981, he was awarded the professional title of Hofrat in 1992 .

politics

Stippel was already involved in politics as a student and was a functionary of the Association of Socialist Students in Austria. As a result, he also took on functions in the Association of Social Democratic Academics, Intellectuals and Artists (BSA) and was active in the Social Democratic Teachers' Association in Austria . As a trained teacher, Stippel was also district education chairman of the SPÖ Wiener Neustadt from 1975 and between 1972 and 1976 he was vice chairman of the public service union - secondary schools section - in Lower Austria. In addition, from 1976 to 1982 he was chairman of the socialist professors at BSA Lower Austria.

Stippel held his first political mandate from 1975 to 1980 as a councilor and was a member of the SPÖ city party executive. He was also a member of the district committee and the district committee of the SPÖ Wiener Neustadt. He represented the SPÖ from June 5, 1979 to November 6, 1994 in the National Council and was also a member of the National Council from December 15, 1994 to January 14, 1996 and from March 14, 1996 to October 28, 1999. Stippel was science spokesman for the SPÖ.
