Johann Ulrich Tobler

Johann Ulrich Tobler (* 9. September 1703 in Tobel, community Lutzenberg ; † 28. May 1787 ibid ; heimatberechtigt in Lutzenberg) was a Swiss politician from the canton of Appenzell Outer Rhodes .

Life

Johann Ulrich Tobler was the son of Johann Tobler, landlord and provincial governor, and the Wibrath cellar. In 1739 he married Barbara Zellweger, daughter of Jakob Zellweger, mayor and manufacturer. Tobler was the mayor of Lutzenberg and for a long time Ausserrhoder state official. He was temporarily voted out of office twice. He worked from 1740 to 1744 as a state ensign. After that he was provincial governor from 1744 to 1747 and from 1756 to 1780.
