Johann Wellmann

Johann Wellmann (born August 23, 1874 in Süderschwei in the municipality of Stadland , † March 22, 1932 in Bremen ) was a German blacksmith and a member of the Bremen parliament and senator ( SPD ).

biography

Family, education and work

Wellmann attended elementary school and learned the trade of a blacksmith . He later worked as a foreman in the Bremen cement industry and from 1908 to 1911 as an innkeeper in Bremen and from 1911 to 1916 as party secretary. In 1919 he founded the Spar headquarters in Bremen, which he managed until 1932 (†).

politics

Wellmann became a member of the SPD in 1893 and was in the union. From 1906 to 1910 he was a member of the SPD executive committee in Bremen. From 1906 to 1932 (†) he was the sponsor of the Bremen party printing house. From 1911 to 1916 he acted as party secretary in Bremen. He attended the central SPD party school in Berlin from 1912 to 1913 . From 1915 to 1916 he was also a member of the central SPD party committee in Berlin.

From 1908 to 1918 he was a member of the Bremen citizenship . After the First World War , he was a member of the Bremen National Assembly in 1919/1920 and again a member of the citizenship from 1920 to 1923. From April 1919 to July 1920 he was Bremen Senator in the Senate under Karl Deichmann (SPD).
