Johann Wilhelm Beusch

Johann Wilhelm Beusch ( September 26, 1689 in Lucerne - February 23, 1743 in Ingolstadt ) was a Swiss Catholic clergyman, Jesuit and professor of philosophy.

Life

Beusch, son of Johann Wilhelm Beusch, entered the Jesuit order in Landsberg am Lech (Bavaria) in 1709 . In 1719 he was ordained a priest in Augsburg.

He was a professor of philosophy in Landshut, Munich and Augsburg and caused controversy in Augsburg and Regensburg. From 1727 he taught canon law, a. a. in Rottweil, Amberg, Dillingen and Ingolstadt. Besides Josef Biner , Beusch was the most important canonist among the Swiss Jesuits. He also dealt with natural and international law issues.
