Johann Zürcher (composer)

Johann Zürcher (born February 27, 1908 ; † 1974 ) was a Swiss musician lawyer .

Life

Zürcher received his doctorate in law from the University of Bern in 1933 and then worked as an advocate . He played the violin , learned harmony and composition at the Bern Conservatory , and composed operettas ( Fun about Countess Anna (libretto collaboration by Werner Rolf Bürki ), Das leathererne Glück or Erbschaft aus Brazil , Ilka (libretto by Hans Kottow )), songs and marches ( Federal Councilor Etter-Marsch ).

His estate is in the Bern Burger Library (mostly sheet music manuscripts ) and in the Bern City and University Library .
